Our Mission
Community Dialogue NYC is a nonprofit organization based in Bushwick, Brooklyn, founded and led by Joanna Fuentes, a community leader and organizer. We are dedicated to building ourselves and our neighbors in the face of North Brooklyn’s systemic challenges. Community Dialogue’s work includes:
Partnering with Christian organizations, Churches community neighbors to support develop sustainable programs that help people and community thrive.
Connecting resources to groups in our community that are building food security for our underserved neighbors
Partnering with and outsourcing help to agencies assisting people dealing with homelessness, charity kitchens, food pantries, crisis centers, youth programs, children’s homes, back-to-school programs, and children’s hunger programs
Bringing awareness to social programs and events that will bring autonomy, peace, and health to our communities
Community Partners
Hands of Hope Ministries - A community-based organization dedicated to sustainable growth in public service based in Bay Ridge
God Squad - A charitable organization providing relief to the distressed and underprivileged community members
Local elected leaders including Assembly Member Maritza Davila, District Leader Samy Nemir Olivares, City Council Member Antonio Reynoso, and Community Board Chairperson Robert Camacho
Recent Engagements
October 16th - Community Dialgoue teamed up with Assembly Member Maritza Davila and City Council Candidate Sandy Nurse’s teams to distribute food to the residents of Hope Gardens in Bushwick
September 26th - Congresswoman Nydia Velzaquez speaks on the importance of the 2020 Census at Maria Hernandez Park, where Community Dialogue distributed over 1000 pounds of food
Recent Engagements
November 19th - Community Dialgoue teamed up with Tony’s Pizzeria Sal, teams to distribute 400 hundred Thanksgiving grocery bags, 105 Food Pantry boxes to the Bushwick community. 400 hot meal for the individual waiting on the line for Groceries for their family.
September 26th - autism awareness at Maria Hernandez Park, where Community Dialogue Play games and provided wellness for the youth with disability
